Garden News

Spring Rototilling

Thank you, Tina, for organizing the rototilling.  Sixteen existing plots were rototilled this afternoon.  Gardeners wishing to participate each paid $10 in advance to have their plot rototilled.

Garden Expansion

The City of Saskatoon has given our garden permission to expand.  This will allow us to accommodate everyone who is currently on our waiting list.  The City hopes to break up the sod sometimes between May 15th and May 18th.

Sandbox

One very special gardener donated her sandbox so that it can be enjoy by all the kids who visit the garden.  What a thoughtful thing to do!

North Park Wilson School's Grasslands Garden

Volunteers needed!

North Park Wilson School invites you to join them as they renew the grasslands garden at the front of the school. The vision is to establish a community garden space that welcomes birds, butterflies, children and community members. Be a part of the planning team, clean-up crew or help out with ongoing maintenance.
  • A cleanup day is planned for Saturday, May 24th, 9am - noon.  Weeds have overtaken the garden. Bring a rake, wheel barrow or shovel and help reclaim the space. Come on out and lend a hand!
  • Ongoing maintenance will be important to keep the garden looking its best. The planning committee invites your ideas, support and guidance.  If you are interested in volunteering  or have any questions, contact Lee Jacobson or Sybille Silbernagel at North Park Wilson School (306-683-7380).
